METROPOLITAIN MENTIONS THE CHANGES IN LEGISLATION CONCERNING THE AM LICENCE

METROPOLITAIN, a 24/7 news application covering the Montpelier region mentions the changes in legislation concerning the AM licence from the age of 14 for driving light four-wheeled vehicles.

To drive a moped or a light vehicle, people born on or after 1 January 1988 must hold an AM category driving licence, formerly known as the BSR licence. Anyone born before 1 January 1988 is exempt from this requirement. In fact, new legislation came into force on 1 March.

Persuaded that the earlier young people start learning to drive on the road, the more responsible their behaviour on the road will be, in October 2014 the French government lowered from 16 to 14 the age at which you can drive a light four-wheeled vehicle.
